Prevent Cavities

When dentists recommend brushing your teeth twice a day, it is not something that should be ignored. Brushing your teeth keeps your mouth cleaner and healthier. Bad dental hygiene can be connected to a surprising number of other health issues. Getting a cavity is one of the most common side effects of poor dental hygiene. But what exactly is a cavity?

A cavity literally means “hole.” So when your dentist tells you that you have a cavity, they are telling you that you have a hole in your tooth. When food is left in your gums and teeth, it is converted into acid and can dig a hole into your tooth.

Fortunately, brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing is the easiest way to prevent this. But if you do happen to get a cavity, one of our dentists may be able to fix it by filling in the hole with a non-bioactive sealer or filling.
